11J represents the day the Cuban people, for the first time in 62 years, went out to the streets against the Cuban dictatorship. That day was July 11th 2021.

11J is a Latin dance studio created by me, Carlos Oliva. I am a Cuban native and grew up in a suburbs where Cuban Salsa music and dancing was always present, day and night, creating the motivation and passion for dance that runs through my veins.

The purpose of 11J is to provide a place where the people in Northeast Florida, who love and are passionate about Salsa and Latin rhythms, can gather together to learn, improve and optimize their dance skills. We will work on understanding the two Salsa timings: Salsa on 1 (Cuban Salsa, Salsa LA) and Salsa on 2 (Salsa NY  and Son Cubano).

The guideline for Salsa on 1 is Cuban Salsa and the guideline for Salsa on 2 is Son Cubano.
